essie TLC Favorites

This post is a follow up to my last entry about the 18 new TLC shades that essie added to the Treat Love and Color Line. If you are unfamiliar with these polishes and want to read my previous post to see all of the new TLC releases click here. Last time I asked all of you to send me messages letting me know what polishes from this collection you most wanted to see swatched and because of the large response that I got I decided to swatch eight polishes instead of six. The polishes that you most wanted to see were ‘Mint Condition’, ‘Daytime Dreamer’, ‘Indi-go for it!’, ‘In The Balance’, ‘Time To Unwind’, ‘Mauve-tivation’, ‘Tone It Up’, and ‘A-Game’. Thank you all for your recommendations and I hope that you like the review below!

I have embedded links into this post so if you would like to shop any of the colors below just click on the blue text and it will take you straight to the polish on Amazon! #amazoninfluencer

‘Mint Condition’ is a crisp mint sage and took two coats to reach full opacity. Unlike other mints that I own this one leaned a bit more on the muted side and wasn’t as bright and in your face as ‘Blossom Dandy’ and ‘Mint Candy Apple’ two of essie’s best mint polishes. I liked this polish because I can wear it during the colder months unlike BD and MCA which I don’t wear during the winter.

‘Daytime Dreamer’ is a caring lilac blossom. This polish is on the lighter side so I did three coats to ensure there was no balding and that the color was even on each nail. This polish is going to be so beautiful in the spring and summer.

‘Indi-go for it!’ is a steely gray blue. This polish went on like a dream and the color is perfect for this time of year. I am a big fan of blue and this one will look pretty all year round.

In The Balance is a light gray with silver shimmer. This polish almost gives off a pearl effect and immediately reminded me of my Grandmother because she always wears pearl polish. This one did take three coats but it turned out beautiful in the end.

Time To Unwind is a shadow pink warmed red shimmer. This one was one of the stand outs for me as the shimmer embedded within the formula was really prevalent on the nail. With some polishes you can see the shimmer in the bottle but not on the nail but with ‘Time To Unwind’ it stands out on and off the nail.

‘Mauve-tivation’ is a pale orchid mauve and was my favorite from the eight polishes that I swatched. This one took two coats and looks SO pretty on your nails. I was needing a polish to brighten up the dreary months and this one fits the bill. It’s bright enough to make my nails have a pop but muted enough that it doesn’t look like a summer color.

Tone It Up  is an enigmatic plum taupe. This one reminded me of one of my all time favorites ‘Smokin Hot’. This could have been a one coat wonder but I did two coats to make the polish look a bit more plump.

A-Game is a deep concrete rose. I surprisingly loved this polish even though I thought it might look too red on me at first. I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome and this was also a polish that you could get away with only one coat.

Underneath all of my swatches I used ‘Gloss Fit’ an ultra glossy clear that is also from this release. To top off each polish I used the Gel Couture Platinum Top Coat. Although these polishes are advertised saying that they do not need a top coat or base coat I still use them out of habit. All of these polishes have a great formula and not only do they chip less but they also make your nails grow stronger. My favorites were ‘Mauve-tivation’, ‘Time To Unwind’, ‘In The Balance’, and ‘Tone It Up’ but I truly did love them all and I’m excited to have them as new additions to my collection!

The products in this post were sent to me by essie, however this post was all my personal opinion. #essiepartner
